nous is a gallery, network, and publication with an initiative to expose and promote design qualities inherent in digital media and technologies for architecture and design.
nous gallery is based in London, and offers the chance to present to a broad, international audience, upwards of 200 people at opening events. Past and upcoming exhibitions are available to view on the site. nous also offers an on-line gallery space that reveals selected work from the nous network. These exhibitions are also archived and searchable.
nous network provides a communication platform and resource for work, ideas, and discourse to be shared by practitioners, theoreticians, students, offices, and universities. Participants are encouraged to post their own work, projects, publications, websites, thoughts, and notes from critics on their page. Universities and institutions are encouraged to post studio work, briefs, goals, and critic discussions, allowing for exchange of ideas between pedagogy and the practice, that will broaden the understanding of the current state of the disciplines.
The network will record the activity of the disciplines within the site, both graphically and theoretically, and in turn, publish its findings. Nous aims to become the hub for ideas and information exchange by recording and sharing the implicit activity within the related fields.
nous publication will be released to members to reveal new advances learned from the network and gallery exhibitions. This will include essays and articles by practitioners, students, and guest editors.
nous seeks to engender a fundamental understanding of media immanence in architecture and design.
