We experience both consiously and sub-consciously, and our minds interpret and connect different things in a variety of ways. My ideas stem or at least I think they do, from not accepting or understanding why we should limit or restrict ourselves in what we do or want to do. So I explore ideas through whatever means seem appropriate. No boundaries.
I do this, not neccessarily to make a point, but simply because they are there to be explored - I think we are fascinated by what we might find or see or cause to happen.
The steel rope bench idea came from a fascination of how people move and stop through a space, how a structure could flow between and connect this motion. A linear form is a the simplest way of linking these occurances, however we do not necessarily interpret these forms as linear but as complex geometry.
The prototype is the beginning of what will be a structure, up to several hundred metres long, flowing across a large area - weaving its way down pavements, wrapping around buildings or passing through them - creating and defining interstitial spaces - seating, walls, canopies and abstract forms - and in doing so changing our perception of spaces and their inherent relationships.
