blink and you’ll miss it
Over the duration of Beyond Media 2009, this installation responded to people’s subconscious response to images of architecture.
The data collected was analysed in real-time to create a digital collage and a world of archibods. The data is now being analysed for trends and patterns relating to our perceived interest in architecture.
Digital collage
The digital collage creates an image of architecture based on subconscious
responses to the images people have viewed. The size of the images is based
on the level of interest shown in them, whereas their relative positions are based
on the paths people had taken through the image library.
Archibods
The behaviour of these archibods represents a person's collective response to images of architecture. Sunand Prasad, President of RIBA, and Kieran Long, Editor of the Architects’ Journal, think they know architecture. We’ve created a world ruled by these two princes. Where would you fit in?
